Welcome to the Law Office of John F. Roth

Experience
90% of our practice is devoted to the K-1 Fiancee* visa. We have submitted over 2000 K visa applications to date. Click on K-1 visa to learn about the K-1 and other visas. We handle fiancee visas for clients from throughout the U.S. and throughout the world.

Success
We have a 100% success record for visas being issued by the Embassy (rather than merely being approved by the INS). See our Standards of Practice to learn how we have achieved this unique result for a practice of our size.

Speed
Our extensive experience and ongoing contact with the INS and embassies ensures that the visa is processed in the minimum amount of time, with the minimum amount of worry.

Full INS Support
We make sure that the INS petition is done right the first time, and we help the INS examiner avoid mistakes. As a result, 99% of our K-1 petitions are approved on the first submission. See our latest processing times for INS Centers Vermont, Texas, Nebraska, and California.

Full Embassy Support
From the beginning of our K-1 practice in 1995, we have placed a unique emphasis on supporting the fiancee through the Embassy phase. The Embassy has always been where most potential problems arise (initial turn down rates in the embassies typically range from 20% - 50% for the general population; our rate is close to zero), and it has become particularly challenging with the implementation of the Patriot Act and other new requirements of the post 9/11 world. Our strategy is to start preparing the case for the Embassy from the first day of the representation, so as avoid problems down the road, or far worse, during the Embassy interview. We prepare all Embassy forms for the fiancee, and provide detailed instructions throughout. We use our close relations with the embassies to ensure that the case is scheduled for an interview at the earliest possible time. Unlike most law firms, we remain fully available to the client and fiancee during the Embassy phase to answer queries and solve problems. Finally, we have legal assistants in Moscow and Warsaw to help prepare the fiancee for the Embassy interview. For other embassies (we have experience with over 60 foreign countries), one of our attorneys calls the fiancee directly to prepare her for the interview.

Building Trust
Since words alone are not enough to earn a client’s trust (and shouldn’t be enough, learn about the unauthorized practice of law in the K-1 field), we disclose our contract, fees, attorney background and client feedback on our web site. We also offer a free start-up kit, so that clients can evaluate our work prior to hiring us.

New!

Our Transparent Office gives clients 24/7 online access to all their case progress data, INS and Embassy processing times, and more.

You can learn more about how we might help you by calling us at 914-674-2300 (M-F, 9am until 5pm, Eastern Time). There is no charge for the initial consultation.

* “Fiancee” is used herein, rather than the more proper “Fiancé(e)”, for ease of reading across multiple Internet platforms.
